  • Day 2 2014

The morning started off well. I met Guillermo and Juan Sergio at the bus stop outside their house and we took the bus to meet the rest of the gang. Then we travelled to the school together. It was a little chilly but no rain! When we arrived at the school we were met by the assistants of the school who directed us into a big hall where the students did their level test. After the level tests the students were assigned their classes which they joined immediately.

After class the students met their supervisor Kerrie who will organise their social events and join them on all of their excursions. In the afternoon Kerrie and I took the students into the town centre to have a look around. It was an exciting day for everybody!

Our summer in Dublin started very smoothly – all of the students arrived on time, the bus arrived on time, we had no problems at the airport and our flight both departed and arrived on time. We were met at the airport and brought to the host families. The students spent some time with their families, talking about themselves and their interests. They also had their first experience with Irish food!

After a while we met up and walked around the area where the students will live for the next three weeks – it was very important that we found the local McDonalds!! Afterwards the students returned to their host families for dinner at the unfamiliar time of 6pm! Now it’s time for them to relax in their new surroundings….they have a big day tomorrow!
