After class today we went on our second excursion of the week. For the first time we were able to walk to our destination. We went to visit the Rose Garden in Dublin’s second biggest park, St. Anne’s Park.

It took us about 40 minutes to walk there but there were no complaints as the sun was shining down on us. When we arrived we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park and some of us ate ice-cream. The park has lots of open areas to roller blade, cycle or do whatever sport you want. It also has old stables which were converted into a tea shop. It’s a great place to go to get away from the busy city.

The girls had the evening free to relax.

Day 11 – July 13th, 2016

The girls had class as usual this morning. In the afternoon they stayed in the school and took part in some sports. Some of them played volleyball while others tried out hurling, which is one of Ireland’s national sports.

It is played with a stick called a hurley and it is one of the fastest sports on earth!

In the evening the girls had the option to go to Howth, which is a beautiful fishing village on the outskirts of Dublin. They walked around the village while trying to avoid the summer showers that we’ve been having in Dublin all day!
