The students had a real taste of Irish culture today when we went to Croke Park to watch Meath (my team) and Dublin playing a game of Gaelic Football……unfortunately for me Dublin was the stronger team on the day! I think some of the students were happy with this as their host family had given them a jersey to wear for the occasion!
62,000 people attended the match. Gaelic football is an amateur sport – the students couldn’t believe it when I told them that they don’t get paid for playing and that they have to get up for work on Monday morning!
