Day 20 – July 24th, 2015

Today was a sad day as it was our last day of classes. The students had to say goodbye to their teachers and classmates! Some of the students bought an Ireland flag so that their friends could sign it and write them a little note.

In the afternoon we went into the city centre and the students went to a shopping centre called Dundrum. It was their last chance to do some shopping in Dublin and to buy some presents for people back in Spain!

This afternoon was spent in the school. The students had lots of choices as to what they wanted to do. Some of them decided to play ping pong while others decided to make scones which are very traditionally Irish - they are a mixture of muffins and bread!

Some of the other students decided to make jewellery to give to their grandparents and others decided to make decorations to make their homes beautiful!

In the evening we had free time. Tomorrow is our last day of classes.

This afternoon was spent in St. Patrick's Cathedral. The cathedral is very beautiful both inside and out. As Valencians are very familiar with Gulliver we were interested to know that Jonathan Swift, who wrote Gulliver's Travels, is buried here.

In the evening some of the students opted to play football while others went to watch the dog racing. Lots of fun!

The students and I went into the city centre this afternoon to visit Dublinia. This is a museum that tells us all about the history of Dublin from the time of the Vikings, the medieval times to the present day. The museum was interactive so the students liked exploring different parts of it.

At night the students enjoyed their last disco night. They got all dressed up and were more lively then other disco nights - maybe because they know each other so well now.
